The Company

our History

Founding Partners

Ted Dwyer and Dick Otte established the business in a Bailey Avenue garage in Saugus Massachusetts in March 1969. Over the last half century the business has occupied space on Essex Street, Webb Place and Central Street before moving to the current location.

The Next Generation

David Dwyer bought the business from his Uncle Ted in 2004. Two years later in 2006, he moved the company from Central Street to its current location, just down the road at 59 Appleton Street. Soon after, Ted's son Michael joined the company full-time. David is licensed to provide survey services in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

New Technology

The company has always taken full advantage of the rapidly improving technology available to surveyors. Today, we operate Leica Robotic Total Stations with long distance reflector-less laser technology for their quick and accurate 3D measurements in most conditions and supplement that with survey-grade GPS Receivers for special situations and to relate the survey to elevations "above sea level" (North American Vertical Datum).

Now we can now provide more accurate and faster surveys than the starting days of the company. We constantly research new advancements in the industry and determine if it can improve our quality of work and our benefit our clients.

Professional Licensure

In 2022, we celebrated Brandon Nolan becoming a newly licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Massachusetts after many years of hard work. In 2023, he became Partner at the company and is looking forward to a successful future at Otte & Dwyer.

The Future

We look forward to growing our company and providing opportunities for the next generation of surveyors and drafters who will join our team.
